Proposed new RHS Garden Bridgewater

The RHS have asked me to pass on the email below regarding support for their proposed new RHS Garden on the outskirts of Salford whilst more accessible from North Wales, members in the South could well be interested.

As you may be aware we have now submitted our application for planning permission for the development of the site for the fifth garden - RHS Garden Bridgewater - on the site of Worsley New Hall, on the outskirts of Salford.

Details of our planning application can be viewed on Salford City Council’s website via the following link http://publicaccess.salford.gov.uk/publicaccess/ where you can search for the planning application using the application reference number – 16/69281/HYB

Salford Council is keen to hear the views of members of the public and of organisations on the proposed plans for the Garden.

We are talking to our key contacts within the region, and although the proposed Garden is outside of your area – it is within good striking distance of some people based in Wales.

If you have any local Bloom or IYN groups who you think might also be supportive please can you ask them whether they would also consider contributing to the process. We’ll drop a separate email to Louise at Llandudno…..

If you/they are supportive of our plans it would be very helpful if you could write in stating your address, and your reasons for supporting the creation of the garden.

If you would like the Council to take your views into consideration when they assess our application, you can submit comments via the Council’s website using the Public Access system, by email to planning.contact@salford.gov.uk or in writing to the following address:

Letters and emails should be marked for the attention of the case officer: Faye Tomlinson and the application reference number - 16/69281/HYB – should be clearly stated.

In the meantime further information about the development of Bridgewater including our first video about the site can be found here (https://www.rhs.org.uk/gardens/bridgewater) or by following us on Twitter (@RHSBridgewater).
